Roadworthiness test
At the end of 6 years, a roadworthiness test is compulsory. This allows, if possible, the validity of the technical compliance certificate to be extended for a period of 3 years.
Another test is carried out in the 9th year and allows, if possible, this certificate to be extended for
another 3 years.
In the 12th year, renewal is subject to the vehicle successfully completing tests at the CEMAFROID test centre, otherwise it loses its ATP certificate
This test is designed to check that your vehicle is capable of cooling sufficiently to reach its appropriate category temperature and of maintaining this temperature for a set period.
In this way, category C (-20°C) vehicles, which were previously systematically downgraded, may now, if they meet the relevant criteria, keep their additional 3 or 6 year certificate. |
